The Vacuum Pyknometer is a large capacity unit used in the rice test for determining the maximum specific gravity of bituminous paving mixtures. The Pyknometer has a transparent top for observation and a lightweight polycarbonate construction. The Pyknometer has a total volume of 10 litres and will conveniently accept samples of 6000 grams to minimise segregation effects.
